Enjoy overnight accommodations in huts over the water.
Urraca Private Island, located in Bocas del Toro, Panama, is not actually an “island,” but instead a dreamland consisting of huts over the water connected by a series of decks. These walkways weave their way around a lush mangrove teeming with birds and sea creatures. This incredible resort is something you truly have to see to believe.
Stay in Huts Over the Water
Watch the sunrise from the balcony of your hut over the water. The four standard bungalows, accommodate two adults each and boast their own deck with direct water access, seating, and a private outdoor shower. Additionally, they offer a two story family bungalow can accommodate up to six guests.
While staying at Urraca, guests enjoy watersports, such as swimming, snorkeling, diving, spear fishing, and canoeing. The crystal clear waters surrounding the mangrove resort are only approximately three feet deep, perfect for a game of volleyball! Or relax in a hammock and sip fresh coconut water. Urraca Private Island also offers a variety of excursions to nearby beaches, the Ngobe Indian village, and a bat cave.
One of the most unique and fun experiences at Urraca, locally known as “Monkey Island” is the opportunity to interact with the 11 rescued monkeys which reside on the island. Owner/hostess, Francine Roy, has created a loving and safe environment for these primates. They spend their days charming and entertaining guests with their often mischievious antics!
